HPV: human papillomavirus….feedback requested

A little discussion on HPV.  First, we’re talking about HPV, not HIV.  HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI). The virus infects the skin and mucous membranes. There are more than 40 HPV types that can infect the genital areas of men and women, including the skin of the penis, vulva (area outside the vagina), and anus, and the linings of the vagina, cervix, and rectum.  Most people with HPV do not develop symptoms or health problems. But sometimes, certain types of HPV can cause genital warts in men and women. Other HPV types can cause cervical cancer and other less common cancers, such as cancers of the vulva, vagina, anus, and penis. The types of HPV that can cause genital warts are not the same as the types that can cause cancer.  At least  50% of sexually active adults contract HPV at least once in thier lives.  In the US, approximately 6.2 million new infections of HPV occur annually, and approximately 11,000 new cases of cervical cancer occur annually.  There is no test for HPV infection in men, and it is unclear how accurate the test for women is.  It is unclear whether HPV infections are ever thrown off by the immune system.  Condoms are not effective in blocking the transmission of HPV. 

Cervical cancer is caused by HPV infection.  Most HPV infections do not result in cervical cancer, but all cervical cancer is linked to HPV infection.

So, here is the quandry: if someone develops cervical cancer and survives, should she be shunned sexually forever afterwards?  Should any man that has sex with a cervical cancer survivor be shunned sexually forever afterwards?  Specifically, would you have sex with a cervical cancer survivor / the past partner of a cervical cancer survivor?
